Marin Robotics - Marin County, CA - Team Recycle-It!
FIRST Team 2456 // Drake // Tam // Redwood // High Schools

2008 Season

Last year’s competition consisted of two rounds where the robot moves around a track with the intention of gaining as many points as possible. The first round is only fifteen seconds long but is where a large amount of points can be accumulated. The track is divided up into four different sections and each robot that successfully crosses a section receives four points. There are also two large balls that each team is assigned but are placed on top of a six and a half foot tall overpass. When the ball is removed within the first 15 seconds that robot gains an additional eight points.

Once the first round is over there is a two minute round where the robots try to achieve as many points by going around the track and crossing their finish line, which is a total of two points. If a robot can manage to push a ball over the finish line they will obtain two points for getting the ball across the line in addition with the two points for a robot crossing the finish line. If a robot can throw the ball over the overpass that they were originally placed that robot can acquire six points and then two more for crossing the finish line. If a robot can place a ball back where it started, on the overpass, then that robots get twelve points.
